Destination: College (“DC”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”). 

 

For purposes of this Agreement, “Site” refers to DC’s website, which can be accessed at https://destinationcollegeny.org. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to DC.

Information you provide us

 

We collect “Personal Information and “Non-Personal Information.” Personal Information is what  you provide to us when making a donation on our website via our third-party payment processors,  and can include your name, email address, mailing address(es), and phone number(s).  

 

 Information collected via Technology

 

We also collect Non-Personal information via technology. Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks.

 

In addition, when opening an email sent to you via Constant Contact, or another email server,  web beacons are used to enable us to recognize when you have opened an email or clicked certain links.  These technologies record your email address, IP address, date , and time associated with each open and click for an email campaign.  This data is used to create reports about how an email campaign performed and to customize and enhance our communications and strategies.

 

We may also use Google Analytics, WIX or a similar service that collects and stores information from your browser when you visit our website.  This information may include your IP address, browser type and language, Internet service provider (“ISP”), website request, log-in or access dates and times, the referring website address or page, the content of any undeleted cookies your browser previously accepted from our website, cookies that may uniquely identify your browser, platform type and number of mouse clicks. We use the aggregated information to measure the number of visits to our site, the average time spent on our site, the search performed, the number of pages viewed, and various other site statistics. The monitoring helps us to provide a more useful and engaging online experience to visitors and helps us improve the quality of our content.

 

DC or its third party payment processor or Constant Contact may also use Cookies to collect data.  Cookies are sent to your browser from our servers and are stored on your computer hard drive. DC or its third party services may use both persistent and session cookies; persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your session and until you delete them, while session cookies expire when you close your browser.

No one under the age of 14 is allowed to register on this Site. DC is committed to safeguarding our users’ online privacy and recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information, particularly that of children. In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Information to contact you in response to donations or questions, to solicit feedback from you, provide technical support, and inform you about our program and program events.

 

We may share Personal Information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law. 

 

Non-Personal Information:

 

In general, we use Non-Personal Information to help us improve communication about our programs and customize the user experience. We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site. This Privacy Policy does not limit in any way our use or disclosure of Non-Personal Information and we reserve the right to use and disclose such Non-Personal Information to our partners, and other third parties at our discretion.
