Give Today. Shape a Student-Athlete’s Tomorrow.

Destination: College empowers student-athletes in Mount Vernon with the academic support, mentoring, and college readiness resources they need to succeed. Through programs like Team Reads, our Mentoring Program, and one-on-one guidance in the Cooney College Center, we help students succeed in school, prepare for college, and build the confidence to pursue their goals.

As part of our 2025 year-end giving campaign — and as we approach our 20th anniversary in 2026 — your donation directly strengthens college access for high school student-athletes. Your gift expands essential services including college application support, financial aid guidance, and campus visit opportunities.

Make a year-end gift today to support college access, academic success, and brighter futures for Mount Vernon’s student-athletes.

"Thank you so much! I appreciate everything everyone in DC have done for me these past few months.
I know for a fact I wouldn't have been so successful in my college process if it wasn't for you guys and I'm just grateful to have been part of such an amazing program. Have a great summer you two!"

Fatima Davila

"Thank you so much for the Jeff Cooney Memorial Scholarship! I am beyond grateful for all that Destination College has provided and edified me with over the past nearly three years. This program has been extremely beneficial not only to me but to countless low-income, first-generation, and minority students in the city of Mount Vernon. Once again, thank you and I hope this small token of my immense gratitude finds you well. Have a lovely day! 🙂"

"I just wanted to let you know that I did it! All the kicking and fussing led me to this moment and Destination College helped make it all possible. Thank you, and I hope you're doing well."
